Corey D. Bean joined our firm after ten years in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps where he served as Defense Counsel, Trial Counsel, Civil Legal Assistance, and Disability Evaluation System Council.  He brings considerable litigation experience to the firm, particularly in Courts-Martial and Boards of Inquiry and Administrative Boards.  

His notable results at the firm include:

  • No prosecution or administrative board for Sailor who refused NJP for sexual assault
  • No confinement and preserved retirement benefits for E-7 who confessed to theft of government property
  • 5 years and 3 month sentence for Airman facing over 70 years confinement for sexual misconduct
  • Preserved regular retirement for Air Force Officer being referred to disability board after more than 19 years of service
  • With Attorney Shannon James, Successfully appealed "fit for duty" finding for PHS Officer suffering from severe anxiety and depression and won medical retirement for the PHS Officer at 70% disability rating.
  • Overturned "due to misconduct and not in the line of duty finding" in the case of an Air Forcer Officer, preserving survivor benefits of widow and children
  • Successfully argued for retention of Marine Corps Officer at Board of Inquiry for sexual harassment

Corey is a 2008 cum laude graduate of George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia.  He is a drilling Judge Advocate General's Corps Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
